It’s really simple to learn how to pass a saliva drug test. Even if your body is riddled with drug metabolites, it’s possible to show a negative result for a cotton swab drug test.

But basically, whatever type of swab it is, a sample is taken of saliva in the mouth. Usually, the person administering the test is trained to take it from the gum line, or under the tongue, because that’s where drug metabolites are more likely to linger.

They don’t tend to stay on the inside of the gum, or the top of the tongue.

The swab sample is then put into a container, pressed against a panel, or the swab itself will analyze the sample. You will then get a positive or negative result, for each type of drug it is looking for.

It doesn’t really matter how it’s administered, all you need to take away from this is that it’s really easy for anyone, literally anyone to do a mouth swab drug test, and see within about 30 seconds if you’ve used drugs recently. It can be done anywhere, anytime, which is why it’s so dangerous.

Saliva Drug Test Detection Times

Having said that a saliva drug test is very dangerous, there is a plus side to consider as well.

Drug metabolites don’t stay in saliva very long. What happens when you smoke weed or take something else, is that the active ingredient that gets you high is converted into metabolites. These linger in the bloodstream, and saliva, then they work their way out through your bladder and bowels.

So as you can see, if it’s been a couple of days since you have last taken something, you are pretty much going to pass an oral drug test.

However, that’s not the case if you are a regular, or chronic user. The bottom line is that the more metabolites you put into your body, the longer it takes for them all to pass out.

The reason they are more popular, is the drug testing companies push urine testing instead because they make more profit from it. Think about it, is no more difficult to test urine on a panel, then it is saliva. Literally, the only difference is in how long drug metabolites stay in that bodily fluid, yet urine drug testing costs significantly more money.

The other reason they are not as popular as urine testingis obviously the shorter detection time. Unless you are a regular user, you’ll probably get away with it if you haven’t done anything in the past couple of days.

But they can be a brilliant deterrent, which is why more and more employers are using cotton swab drug tests. Even if your employer has not already got mouth swab drug testing, it could be happening soon.

The danger with a saliva drug test is that you could be caught out with a moments notice, you simply won’t know when you are going to face one. As you already know, they are easy to administer, which means you don’t get much notice at all.

When it comes to passing an oral drug test, it’s about preparing. It’s also about knowledge of the company that you work for or the situations you might face where you could be asked to submit the sample.

So if you think there’s a chance you could face a cotton swab drug test, either through employment, or law enforcement in your country, then it’s important that you have a strategy, and the tools to pass, because it’s possible to happen wherever you are.

How To Pass A Saliva Drug Test

So let’s take a look at the different ways you can pass an oral drug test. I’m going to talk you through strategies that don’t cost much money, plus I’ll talk about strategies that do cost money, but that is pretty much foolproof, and definitely ones you need to take on board if you are a regular weed smoker or other types of a drug user.

1. Cleanse your mouth

If your toxin intake is low, then it is pretty straightforward to just avoid taking in any more toxins and to then cleanse your mouth during the lead up to your test.

This strategy only works if you are a light user, say you have taken something, had a joint, in the past couple of days, and you only do that once a week.

If that’s the case, you shouldn’t really need to do anything. But to make sure, I would suggest you brush your teeth several times a day, especially along the gum line. You can also use mouthwash several times a day to increase the cleansing.

If you are a weed smoker, another thing you can do is to eat a fatty meal, like a burger, an hour before you have the test. That’s because fat binds to THC metabolites, which means there’s a chance some will be dragged out of your mouth. But it’s not foolproof.

Plus, just drinking lots of water will naturally flush out your mouth, and produce more saliva, working the metabolites out.

So your strategy if you are an occasional user can be as simple as:

• Brushing your teeth several times in the 24 hours before your test
• Use mouthwash several times in that 24 hours
• Don’t take in any more drug metabolites
• Have a fatty meal about an hour before your test, especially if it’s weed you’re worried about
• Keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of water

But the problem with the cleansing strategy is that it assumes you’ll have some notice of the test, at least 24 hours.

That might be the case if you are going for a job interview, and you think you might have an oral swab test straight after it. Or you have had an interview, and they give you 24 hours to go and submit a sample somewhere.

But what happens if you haven’t prepared at all, you know you’re riddled with metabolites, and you haven’t got access to any specialist mouth cleansing product?

2. Disrupt the cotton swab drug test

So if you haven’t prepared, and you know you could have drug metabolites in your saliva, then all you can hope to do is to disrupt the cotton swab drug test in some way.

That may sound crazy, but it is actually possible to just maybe fix the test. There are two ways you can potentially do this.

The first way to pass an oral drug test by manipulating it is to try and get the person administering it to take the sample from higher up in your mouth. Metabolites tend to gather around your gum line and under your tongue, if you can get them to take the swab higher up, on the inside of your cheek, then there is less chance of metabolites being in the sample.

You could do this by saying your jaw hurts and telling them that you can’t open your mouth much. As you hold open your mouth you could twist slightly, so that when they try and take the sample, you are potentially manipulating the position it’s taken from.

Or you could pretend you have a very sensitive gag reflex, and when they put the swab in your mouth, start twisting slightly and retching, to put them off, and try to manipulate where they take the sample from.

You may not believe this, but sometimes a poorly trained person will pass you the swab, and ask you to take the sample. They may even ask you to take it from along the gum line, but once it’s in your mouth, they can’t really see where you’re taking the sample from. Just make sure you keep away from the gum line and under your tongue.

3. Use specialist mouthwash

You can buy specialist saliva neutralizing mouthwashes. They are small, discreet containers, usually around 1 fluid ounce, that you can carry around with you.

If you are told you’re going to have a drug test, then you can simply pop into the toilet, swill mouthwash around in your mouth, and spit it out. In a real emergency, you could even swallow it, although I have to say that I wouldn’t advise it.

So in terms of how to pass a saliva drug test, no matter how many metabolites you have in your saliva, the specialist mouthwash bottles are a great solution.

However, one problem is that you still need notice. Even if it’s just a few moments, you have to know you are going to get the time, and space, to use the mouthwash without being observed.

4. Use saliva detox gum

Probably the best way to pass a mouth swab drug test is saliva neutralizing gum. It’s really discreet, and you can keep it on yourself all the time.

Because it’s so discreet, even if you are searched at work, or before your test, the chances of anyone finding it a very remote.

Plus, you only need a few seconds to use it, just like with detox mouthwash. And you’ll have about 30 minutes of clean saliva after that.

For me, this is the absolute best way to pass a mouth swab drug test, every single time.

The main reason is that it’s incredibly discreet. It’s a single capsule you can keep on you at all times.

When you need it, you simply pop it in your mouth, chew it for 30 seconds, and then swallow it. Is not really gum at all, it’s a capsule of concentrated detoxifying liquid, in an edible container.
