How to hook two hydraulic valves together? ›

Replace the conversion plug on the outlet side of the SBA valve with a power beyond sleeve (#1V0208). Connect this line to the inlet of the second valve. Run a tank line from the outlet of the first valve (which has priority) back to the reservoir.

Removing the locking nut gives you access to the adjustment screw. Turn the screw clockwise to raise the pressure, and twist it counter-clockwise to lower the pressure. Use a pressure gauge to ensure you create the ideal pressure adjustment before replacing the locking nut and putting the spool valve back into place.

There are times when the hydraulic valve lifter needs to be adjusted. But instead of setting lash (as you would with a solid or mechanical valve lifter), a hydraulic system needs to have the preload set since there is no lash.

The two primary characteristics for selecting a directional-control valve are the number of fluid ports and the number of directional states, or positions, the valve can achieve. Valve ports provide a passageway for hydraulic fluid to flow to or from other components.
