This year-end "best of" post is always my favorite post of the year to write. It's so fun to look back through the year's posts and see which ones have taken the top spots as your favorites ... and especially which recipe takes top-billing as the #1 most-viewed favorite. There are always a few surprises for me. I like to think I stay on top of what's popular on the blog, but there are always some recipes I didn't realize you liked so well!

Why 12 top best recipes, you ask? Isn't it usually a top 10 list at the end of the year? Yes, it is ... but it was way too hard for me to stop at 10! Some of your favorites were really close in numbers, so I decided to just go ahead and include two bonus posts and make it the top 12. A little extra deliciousness never hurts.

Thank you so much for readingThe Kitchen is My Playground. I am humbled and blessed to have you all as readers. I'm looking forward to keeping the tried-and-true family-taste-tested recipes for the home cook coming in the new year.

1. Old-Fashioned Banana Pudding from Scratch ~ We have a debate in our house as to which banana pudding is better -"regular" banana pudding, which is the made-with-instant-pudding and topped-with-Cool-Whip stuff we all encounter most of the time ... or "real" banana pudding, which is the old-timey made-from-scratch stuff.
